THE CPENET
MISSION
CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR THE PRACTICING FRAUD PROFESSIONAL
CPENet is a non-profit, on-line continuing fraud education
lecture and webcast series designed by a group of certified fraud
examiners and financial professionals, all of whom have been active
as practitioners and trainers for many years.
CPENet originates from our concern that outsourcing, downsizing and
slashed training budgets are making high quality CPE more and more
difficult for CPA's, CIA's, CISA's, CMA's and CFE's to obtain.
During earlier times, characterized by heavier training budgets, it
was easier for the professional to get the 40 odd hours of
continuing education credit each year required to maintain
certification and hone professional skills. In today's climate high
quality training has become a luxury many professionals can no
longer afford. A recent article in a leading business publication
indicated that by the time all the costs are added up (travel,
meals, time away from work, etc.), it costs the typical professional
between $50.00 and $75.00 for each hour of CPE credit he or she is
finally able to arrange and complete.
The mission of CPENet is to reduce the cost to the individual
professional of high quality, continuing professional education.
"CPENet is an affiliate of MIT's Global Network Academy and is
registered as a sponsor of continuing professional education on its
catalog of educational offerings. No lecture information with the
exception of the catalog listing may be obtained directly from GNA."
