THE INNER AUDITOR WEBCASTS
CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION
WEBCASTS FOR FRAUD & AUDIT PROFESSIONALS
What are Inner Auditor
Webcasts?
The Inner Auditor is an on-going series of webcasts to bring you, our Chapter
members and guests, lectures and interviews with influential
practitioners in the fields of fraud examination and auditing. We would
like our webcasts to be wide ranging, however, to include opinion leaders in and
out of the fraud examination and audit communities who have an important role in how
we practice. To that end we have contacted several practitioners whose
opinions and viewpoints we feel will be of interest.
Inner Auditor webcasts will be posted to this page as they are completed...
their publication dates may correspond to the dates for our virtual meetings
or they may not... at any rate, you will receive an e-mail, notifying you that a
new webcast has been posted and the number of CPE credits to be awarded
for listening to it.
How Do Inner Auditor Webcasts Work?
Inner Auditor webcasts are in MP3 format, the
same condensed format used by Apple ITunes. MP3 files allow large files to
be transmitted more
efficiently across the internet because of their smaller size. Each
webcast is between 50 and 60 minutes long and will typically be about 60
megabytes in size. That means they can best be downloaded by those with faster
internet connections. Those with slower connections can still download
them, it will just take longer. Sometime the audio webcast will be
accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation... if so, the PowerPoint will be
available via a separate download. The idea will be to listen to the
webcast while simultaneously viewing a printed copy of the PowerPoint.
Each webcast will be associated with a set
of five questions which must be answered and submitted in order for the member
to obtain a
certificate by e-mail. The webcast itself in imbedded in an Adobe
document... we use Adobe documents because they allow us to password protect our
content.
The best way to listen to the webcast is to down load a free copy of Adobe
Reader 9 available at www.adobe.com and open
the lecture in the
Reader. The Adobe reader has a set of tools for listening to the
webcast... you can play, pause, stop, etc. and just control the lecture as you
listen. Past lectures will be saved to the Inner
Auditor Archive where they will be available for listening by members at any
time. If you missed a lecture
and need an hour of CPE, feel free to listen and submit your answers on-line...
we'll send you a certificate. That's really all there is to it... for
now
